Like most audio engineers, I tend to be a little more audio-nerd than entrepreneur. Because of this, I frequently have "small business blind-spots" which Björgvin has helped me to see and overcome. Who Am I and Why Should You Trust Me?
I get it. There are a lot of business bloggers blogging about business but their only business is selling you how to run a business.
That was a weird sentence to write.
Instead of building a business about building a business, I've built a business around an actual pain I know how to solve for my audience.
You know why? Because I understand my target market.
I help musicians and audio engineers make better sounding music, with eBooks, video training and free blog posts.
I've done multiple product launches, from simple and cheap eBooks to in-depth and expensive courses. I've spent hours tweaking sales copy and I've dedicated the better half of 10,000 hours to email marketing.
From those experiences I've earned some perks along the way:
- I've built an automated sales system around my business so they make money while I go golfing with my parents while they visit from Iceland.
- I've been able to tour around the country as a bass player in a band, with only my laptop as my check-in device to make sure everything is running smoothly.
- I've created a type of freedom I never thought possible, being able to wake up and do only what I want to do, not what a random boss tells me needs to get done.
Sometimes all I need to do is some regular maintenance and checkup, doing the occasional promotion or running a specific sale if I needed some extra cash.
I've learned a lot of tactical business skills to get to where I am today in my little niche. I certainly don't know everything and I'm constantly improving my business. However, I believe I have the necessary skills to help you build yours.
